Coaching information

Pierre Lubbe is a qualified Play and Stay coach who can coach rating 6-10 players with red (rating 9-10) balls; orange (rating 8) balls and green (rating 6-7) balls. He is not qualified to coach with normal balls but many players attend his squads that play with normal balls.

Most players have their own individual coaches but attend Pierre’s squads because he is known as the court hours coach. A court hours coach provides opportunity for players to practice drills and mostly play matches. In 2015 there are 180 hours of playing opportunity.

There are 40 Saturdays (08:00-10:00) and 40 weekday holidays (16:10-Dark) that there is only coaching. There are additional 10 Saturday Three Cycle Match Programs when there is no coaching from 08:00-10:00 but players are encouraged to play three matches a day with a long break between each match. That means the only Saturdays that are missed is Easter Saturday and the Saturday between Christmas and New-year and also when Hoërskool Garsfontein requires the court.

Although Pierre does not coach any player preferring to play with normal balls he does show videos. The video is selected from a wide selection of coaching videos and is applicable to either the theme of the week or an identified area of low consistency of a player. Videos are shown when the players break between drills or rest. There are players who do not receive individual coaching and are only coached by Pierre. These players only instruction is the video library of the leading coaching academies in the world. If a player reacts to the electronic tennis coaching articles they are emailed articles regularly.

Coaching will take place 90 times [180 hours] in 2015 on Saturdays and weekdays in the holidays and will cost R5000/year [R27.78/hour] or R1400 per term or R600/month and R75 per session.
